Independent Writing - An Alternative Ending for The Gingerbread Man

Do you remember the story of The Gingerbread Man from Monday's Story Time? The YouTube link is in the 'Activities' section of the 18/5 Home Learning Page. Watch it again to help you.

Watch and read  the story of the Gingerbread Man on the powerpoint. Would you trust the fox to help you run away?

Can you retell the story to your family? Play pretend and ask your family to be the other characters, or you could use these stick puppet templates to retell the story. You could even make your own.

Comprehension: The Gingerbread Man

Read story together with support as necessary. Talk about story.

Encourage the children to try to write some one word answers to the questions. Talking about the answers is super if the questions are too tricky.

Use the word bank to help the children try to be independent.
