You will find more information about this below.
We hope you enjoy learning P4 numeracy together. If we can support you in any way, please get in touch with Mr. Manogue. (nmanogue821@c2kni.net)
To begin numeracy each day, all children should complete the activities in the Mental Maths folder. It will be really important for the children to keep working on their number facts knowledge - so each week we will focus on an aspect of number facts knowledge such as number bonds or times tables. We hope they will keep practising these over the course of the week, so that you can give them a weekly test on a Friday! We will cover the number facts focus for the week on a Monday and give daily practice for Mental Maths.
Having done the Mental Maths, numeracy activities are prepared so that every child starts with the activities in Step 1. The activities become more challenging in Step 2 and 3. Children should progress through Step 2 and Step 3 as long as they are able. We don't want children to struggle on their own with work they are finding too hard.
The work set is a mixture of games to play, challenges to carry out and worksheets to complete. The worksheets can be downloaded to answer on, or else can just be viewed online, with the written work completed in an exercise book or blank page.
We have set work to be completed over 5 days. Don't worry if you miss a day, or if you would rather try and complete more than one days work at a time.
As well as the work set, the teachers have allocated specific tasks on Mathletics for the children to complete, connected to the work set here. We would encourage children to keep going with Mathletics, completing the tasks and boosting their points! We'll be telling you each week which class has got the most points!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
