You will find more information about this below.
We hope you enjoy learning P4 literacy together. If we can support you in any way, please get in touch with Mr. Walls (swalls884@c2kni.net).
As part of literacy each day, all children should practise their spellings. You'll find everything you need by clicking on the 'P4 Spelling' star. On Mondays, they should watch the video clip and then copy/cover, write and check their words just as they have been doing in their homework folder since September. There may be a second page of related activities provided. The spelling sheet does not have to be printed - the children could copy their words onto a page. On the other days they should choose an activity from the 'Spelling Menu'. We hope they will keep practising these over the course of the week so that you can give them a weekly test on a Friday!
Each daily literacy sessions will include spelling, grammar, comprehension, writing or talking and listening. This could involve watching a Powerpoint presentation or video clip, playing a game, having a discussion with an adult or completing a written task. Complete the tasks in one step only (Step 1, 2 or 3) depending on which is an appropriate level of difficulty for your child. We don't want children to struggle with work they are finding too hard.
The worksheets can be downloaded to answer on, or else can just be viewed online, with the written work completed in an exercise book or blank page. Answers will be provided where possible.
We have set work to be completed over 5 days. Don't worry if you miss a day, or if you would rather try and complete more than one day's work at a time.
Each day, the children should log onto Bug Club where they will read books and complete activities which have been set by their teachers.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
