Rights Respecting School Award – Bronze: Rights Committed
Elmgrove Primary School and Nursery Unit has achieved their Bronze level in the Rights Respecting School Award. The RRSA is an initiative run by UNICEF UK, it encourages schools to place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of its ethos and curriculum. The Bronze award means we have introduced it to the school community and have embarked upon our journey to the second stage of the Award, Silver: Rights Aware.

School of Sanctuary
A School of Sanctuary is a school that is committed to being a safe and welcoming place for all, especially those seeking sanctuary. This could be people whose lives were in danger in their own country, who have troubles at home or are just looking for a space of safety. Elmgrove Primary School helps its students, staff and wider community understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary and to extend a welcome to everyone as equal, valued members of the school community. It is a school that is proud to be a place of safety and inclusion for all.
Sustrans Bronze Award
We were awarded the Bronze Award from Sustrans which recognised our Commitment to Sustainable Transport. To achieve the award, we increased the number of children travelling actively to school and took part in events such as, ‘Ditch the Dark Day’ and ‘Feet First Families Day’. We have embarked upon our journey to achieving the Sustrans Silver Mark for Excellence in Sustainable Travel.

Eco-Flag
Our dedicated Eco-Committee have ensured we have maintained our Eco- Schools Green Flag Award for four years consecutively. Elmgrove Eco Warriors inspire the whole school community to have an awareness of environmental issues and think of proactive ways they can help.
