Elmgrove Nursey Unit follow the Northern Ireland Pre-School Curricular Guidance. The guidance allows our children to learn at their own pace through a breadth of learning experiences and challenging play activities in a stimulating environment.
The play-based pre-school curriculum is non-statutory and is set out in six Areas of Learning. Play experiences in our nursery are carefully planned and structured to create a challenging environment in which learning and development can take place.
Through a varied and stimulating programme, our pupils are given the opportunities to investigate, satisfy their curiosity, explore their environment both indoors and outside, share the world of books, music and drama, experience success and develop a positive attitude towards learning. Through a curriculum which is broad and balanced, children are allowed to make choices and are provided with opportunities through play and other experiences to develop learning.
