Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Mr Manogue, Mrs Baird, Miss McCullough, Miss Bingham and Mrs English are the P4 teaching staff in Elmgrove. We are so excited that we can now share with you all of the exciting things that we get up to in P4. Our new topic is 'Whatever the Weather'. We loved our old topic on World War Two. We learnt lots about the Blitz and the life of an evacuee! We made our own Anderson shelters and enjoyed some WW2 baking. Take a look at our rationed carrot cookies!

Whatever the Weather

Luke in Miss Kennedy's class brought his two pet turtles into school. They are called Max and Leonardo. We really enjoyed their visit!

We had fun on Pancake Tuesday!

We recently enjoyed a trip to the library on the Holywood Road. Janet taught us all about the library. We learnt how books are shelved and how we can use the library. We loved the quiz at the end of her talk! Our favourite part of the trip was when we were given our library cards and got to pick our own books. It was a super trip!

Here's a P4 homework checklist. Please look over the children's work and sign their homework diary every night.

We really enjoy reading in school. Our current novel that we are reading together is 'Fantastic Mr Fox' by Roald Dahl. We love it! Encourage your child to read at home. A book before bed is a great way to spend some quality time together.
