We are proud to be an Autism Impact Award school, recognised for our ongoing commitment to
creating an inclusive, autism-friendly learning environment. This award reflects our dedication to understanding and supporting autistic pupils, families, and staff through informed practice and meaningful action. A number of our staff have completed specialist autism training, ensuring our team is equipped with the knowledge and strategies needed to provide thoughtful, individualised support. We strive to make reasonable adjustments that help every child thrive - academically, socially, and emotionally. Our school is a place where autistic individuals feel understood, respected, and valued. We actively promote an environment where open conversations around diagnosis and neurodiversity are welcomed and supported.
Here at Elmgrove, we are very proud to be recognised as a Forest School. We have received our Elder Award, meaning we have several Forest School trained teachers in school and we have developed our outdoor space to support children’s learning; including our fantastic Sensory Garden. Outdoor learning offers opportunities for child-led, hands on learning experiences, where pupils can develop problem solving skills, curiosity, independence and a love for the world around them. Pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 also have the opportunity to join our ‘Eco Committee’. We are working hard to renew our status as an ‘Eco School’ and achieve our ‘Green Flag’ award.
