Compassion Belfast

Compassion Belfast

Compassion Belfast is a local charity that works to help with poverty and support social welfare in the Belfast area through projects like The Living Room, a café-style space offering food and support, and Fun In A Box, which provides free parties for families. The organisation also runs a ‘New To You’ shop for affordable goods, and The Base Project to help people express themselves through arts and media. As a school, we have enjoyed working alongside Compassion Belfast in various ways in recent years, including our annual Harvest Collection and different Christmas initiatives. On Friday 17 October, one of the charity’s workers, Chara, came to collect everything that our school had gathered towards a Harvest donation; this will go towards one of the previously-mentioned charity projects and will benefit so many people across our city. We would like to say a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone in our Elmgrove community who donated towards this fantastic cause. The generosity of our pupils and families continues to blow us away! Our School Council members helped load Chara’s car with the donations, although there were SO many items that she came back the following week for assembly!
