Nurture Provision
A nurture group is a short term, focused intervention for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties which create a barrier to learning within the mainstream classroom setting. The Nurture Group has a maximum of 10 children who are supported by a teacher and classroom assistant. The relationship between these staff and the children is always nurturing and supportive, providing a role model for the children. Food is shared at 'breakfast' or 'snack time' with much opportunity for social learning, helping children to attend to the needs of others, with time to listen and be listened to.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
